Ephraim and wife Ursula sold he r land inherited from her father, Thomas Avent, Sr., to her brother, Thom as Avent, Jr., as revealed in these deeds (7): 1768. Ephraim Pettipoo l and Usley his wife, of Dobbs County, North Carolina to Thomas Avent of Northampton County for the sum of £24 and 10 sh of current money of Virgi nia for 40 acres above falls on on north side of Roanoke River in Northam pton County which land was part of a tract granted to Thomas Avent on Jul y 29, 1752, deceased, to his daughter, Ursula, the now wife of Ephraim Pe ttypool; witnesses: William Moughan, John Grimsley. September Court 1770. 1768 February. Epraim Pettipool & wife to William Moughon, for the s um of £10 Virginia money, for 200 acres on the south side of Beaver Pond Creek, from will of Thomas Avent, dec'd. Signed: Ephraim Pettipool; witne sses: Samuel Lockhart, David Winbourne. March Court 1768. Ephraim and Ursula's land on Beaver Pond Creek, Northampton County, North Carolina, w as the same creek on which the Richard and Ann Pettypool Massey family li ved on the Virginia side in Brunswick County.
