- Joan de Ferrers, born about 1248, was the daughter of William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby, by his second wife Margaret de Quincy, daughter and co-heiress of Roger de Quincy, Knt., 2nd Earl of Winchester, hereditary Constable of Scotland. [1]
In 1267 Joan married Sir Thomas de Berkeley, Knt., of Berkeley, Gloucester, Wendon, Esses, etc., 1st Lord Berkeley, Vice-Constable of England, 2nd but 1st surviving son and heir of Maurice de Berkeley, 6th Baron Berkeley and Isabel de Dover. They had 4 sons and two daughters: [1]

During the period 1254-60, Robert de Ferrers granted the manor of Easton, Leicestershire, to his sister, Joan de Ferrers. [1] [2]
Joan de Ferrers died on 19 March 1310 and was buried at St. Augustine's, Bristol, Gloucestershire. [1]
